Why Sealcoat?

As home owners we take pride in the maintenance and beautification of our property. Asphalt driveways should be no exception when it comes to beautifying and protecting such investments.

Asphalt is a porous mixture consisting of aggregate (stone), and binder (the black stuff). After several months, new asphalt will begin to lighten as the thin layer of binder on top starts to wear away exposing the aggregate to mother nature.

Once the aggregate is exposed, water can easily permeate the surface and go all the way through to the base. Over time, the water will expand and contract, creating small cracks that will inevitably result in the asphalt's destruction.

By sealing asphalt regularly (every two years or so), you will be able to increase the life of asphalt considerably.  But of all the sealers out there, which one is the best product to use? Why Acrylic?
